Laoshan Innovation Valley – Technology Finance District
Laoshan Innovation Valley is a flagship urban redevelopment initiative in Qingdao's Laoshan District, transforming a 14.2 km² industrial corridor into a next-generation ecosystem for finance, technology, and creative industries. Anchored in the Zhuzhou Road Area, the project integrates three synergistic clusters—the Technology Finance Center, Cultural Creative Headquarters, and Science & Education Hub—to establish a new engine for industrial upgrading and urban renewal.
At the heart of the development is the Technology Finance Center, envisioned as the "Financial Blue Harbor." Leveraging the Zhangcun River's ecological corridor, the district creates a 24-hour waterfront financial zone where fintech innovation, high-end services, and headquarters economies converge. The strategic positioning builds on the existing Zhuzhou Road Industrial Corridor and Jiajia Ling Financial District, evolving them into a modern financial center with strong back-office operations, corporate headquarters, and technology exhibition functions.
The spatial design follows the concept of "Two Banks + Green Infiltration + Vertical City." The north bank concentrates headquarters towers and R&D offices. The south bank offers commercial, entertainment, and mixed-use living environments. A continuous green network links the river to surrounding mountains, while a 250-meter landmark tower forms the district's vertical core.
Thirteen key functional zones—including the Central Plaza Park, Financial Headquarters Tower, Green Technology Town, Industrial Tech Exhibition Center, and Pedestrian Commercial Waterfront—create a diversified urban experience blending finance, innovation, business services, and leisure.
In the core "Financial Blue Harbor" area, ecological restoration, industrial heritage, and technology-driven placemaking come together to establish a dynamic waterfront destination. Diverse building interfaces, multi-level public spaces, and a 360° pedestrian network shape a vibrant environment where finance, innovation, and lifestyle intersect—positioning Laoshan Innovation Valley as a leading model for future-oriented urban development in China.
